Awards for All - The National Lottery Community Fund

Shaun Campbell

Betknowmore UK has successfully been awarded a grant from The National Lottery Awards for All Programme and are delighted to have received £9,268, to help us fund and run our Health-E U Programme.

Health-E U will benefit individuals living with gambling harms such as debt, family breakdown, loss of employment and social isolation, which have been exacerbated by the pandemic.

Betknowmore UK will provide ‘Health-E U’ group sessions in Islington for people living with gambling harms. These support groups are centred around mental, emotional, and physical health and wellbeing. We aim to reduce the impacts of gambling harms on communities through our ‘lived experience’ model and award-winning training by offering local people tools, resources and a safe space to connect with others.

We anticipate running Health-E U sessions every fortnight over a 6-month period at our hub in Voluntary Action Islington and are in the process of designing materials and creating a campaign to help gauge interest and awareness. We hope that Health-E U workshops and sessions will offer a new innovative approach for people in London, with community focus and engagement at the heart of this project.

Shaun Campbell, Head of Fundraising & Partnerships said, "We are excited to launch this programme in Islington, it is very much needed and our GOALS team provide exceptional outreach work in the community. Most importantly, I believe our Health-E U will empower local people to take back control of their lives from gambling through tried and tested techniques"

A special thank you to The National Lottery Awards for All Programme for your support.
