Gambling harms can affect literally anyone, which is why Betknowmore UK has developed a range of training programmes to help organisations across all industry sectors to better understand how gambling impacts their business and, crucially, the wellbeing of their people and customers.

Our current training programmes

Peer Aid

The Peer Aid training has been designed and setup to enable individuals who have experienced gambling harm and would like to use their experience to help and support others through a peer support model. The training course is assured by City & Guilds and ensures individuals are able to use their lived experience in an impactful but most importantly safe way so that everyone within the service is not at risk of experiencing further harm.

The training consists of 9 weekly online sessions covering a variety of topics including:

• Safeguarding
• Boundaries
• Motivation
• Values
• What is peer supporting
• Active listening
• Motivational interviewing

The training is aimed at any individuals who has experienced gambling harm whether that’s those directly in recovery themselves (minimum 12 months abstinence) or those indirectly effected as affected others.

Breaking the Cycle

You may not know gambling disproportionately harms Black communities.

Our goal is to help as many members of Black communities who are affected by gambling harms. We can't do this alone.

We partner with community leaders to help equip councils, charities, religious groups and more to be aware of the problems and help them to be part of the solution.
